Senior Fitness

It’s extremely important for everyone INCLUDING ME to stay active, to keep moving, because the old saying “use it or lose it” is as real as it can get. I don’t know about you, but I see people at my age already losing their flexibility and ability to do things, it scares me to think that I might not be able to tie my shoe laces, bent down to dry my toes at an older age, I won’t let that happen. Neither should you!

I want to be able to:

  • carry groceries myself till my final days
  • dry my own toes
  • tie my own shoes
  • get out of bed with ease
  • walk up the stairs
  • not have to huff and puff like I’m dying

I want to refrain from having pains and aches as much as possible! I want to be as strong and remain as strong as possible for as long as I can.

 

EXERCISE WILL HELP YOU WITH ALL THIS

I’m helping Pia to strengthen her back and core muscles and have put together a program which focusses on

  • abdominals
  • transverse abdominis
  • glutes
  • hamstrings
  • erector spinae
  • hip flexors
  • shoulders
  • trapezius
  • rhomboids

In effect, a full body workout which does not neglect any muscles, but still focussing on core muscles to help prevent lower back pain, which was one of the main reasons Pia came to see me.

We’re slowly building up strength step by step, increasing cardio over time, which in turn will help build up a higher immunity against diseases and increase overall happiness and feeling of wellbeing.

We worked out in her house on her terrace and in the community garden at Alhaurin Golf using bodyweight exercises, light sandbags and TRX Suspension Training.
