Motivation and Exercise

Do you find it hard to get Motivated?

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence”

“Change your life today. Don’t gamble on the future, act now, without delay”

It all comes down to our way of thinking and acting upon it!

For many people, structured exercise is something they have never had to do before, and adding this into their already very busy schedule feels overwhelming, having to rearrange your schedule just so you can get some sweat on causes stress, anxiety, and some major changes in peoples lives.

The way we live today doesn’t require much movement, with all the latest gadgets out there, remotes to turn on the TV, parking the car closer to the shopping mall entry, taking elevators and escalators to where we want to be, it’s no wonder people are getting more lazier and overweight, it’s a true fact!

Many people see exercise as something negative. It’s boring, difficult, too hard work, what’s the point if I don’t get immediate results? it’s any wonder they don’t want to do it. Running on a treadmill “boring”  or joining a fitness class with all those ripped glamourous physiques feeling like a fish out of water. Having a trainer yell at you to do more, who wants that? if you have never done this before.

Well, it’s not all like that most of the time, you need to find what works for you, something that you enjoy and is fun for you. Motivation isn’t something that just happens, you need to put in the effort to start, but until you do you will not get anywhere and stay stuck looking and feeling the same way as you do right now for the next 2-3 years or more. It’s all about opening your mind to new things and discovering new avenues for yourself, nobody is going to do this for you, it’s “YOU” who needs to take charge.

Take small steps each day no matter how small it is, go for a 15-20minute brisk walk, at least it’s something you have done today that you never would normally do. Do some yoga and meditation to help with your chain of thoughts, it really will help, and you will soon start to feel the spark of light within you.
